The University of Oklahoma has several options for incoming freshmen to
pick from when it comes to student housing. Each living area has
center-specific amenities and design features.
When you complete your housing application and are admitted to the
University, H&F will mail you a housing contract where you can
indicate your preferences for the following:
• Towers
• Quads
• Premium room
• Double
• Single
• Academic Arts Community (Honors)
• Global Community
• Scholastic floor
• Quiet lifestyle
• National merit
The residence halls are very convenient and include three, twelve story
towers: Adams, Couch and Walker - that accommodate students with great
views of campus in suite-style arrangements with two people to a room,
each room sharing a bathroom with the adjoining room. Cate Center,
also referred to as “the Quads” are a 4-story low rise buildings
closest to the South Oval that are further divided into smaller college
houses. The Academic Arts Community , which resides at the OU Honors
College and David. L Boren Hall is also located at Cate Center.
All of the residence hall rooms include high-speed Internet access
through Ethernet. Separate study and television lounges on every floor
of the towers, and every first floor of Cate Center, provide a
comfortable & inviting place to read, study or spend time with
friends. There are two, 24-hour computer labs located on the first
floor of Couch and Walker, along with pool and ping-pong tables, and large and comfortable lounge furniture. Ample laundry facilities
are also devoted to each Center.
Sooner Housing Center is another housing option available for University of Oklahoma students. SHC offers multiple floor plans for residents and its very own dining hall!
