The Faculty-In-Residence program enables students to develop "out of the class room" relationships and experiences with professors.  Faculty members and their families live in OU housing centers and often host guest lecturers, special meals and other events, while also providing a further sense of home-life qualities for residents.

Dr. Justin Wert, Mrs. Gwyn Wert, Mitchell (3)
 Justin Wert is a new addition to the Political Science faculty and is currently Assistant Professor. They are a second year FIR family. Previous programs include New York Times reading, financial planner, and nutritionist.

Dr. Meta Carstarphen, Mark Delgado
Dr. Meta Carstarphen serves as the Associate Dean of the College of Journalism and Mark Delgado is the Regional Operations Manager with American Auto Service. This is their second year as a FIR family. Programs from last year include a barbecue cook-out, book club, how-to session on basic car maintenance, and community service outreach.

Dr. Suzette Grillot, Pat Lannon, Hannah (10)

Dr. Suzette Grillot is currently Associate Professor of International and Area Studies in the College of Arts and Sciences, and Pat works for IBM Corp. Frequent activities include cook-outs, children's play-dates, and football watch parties.

Sooner Housing Center

Dr. Allen Knehans, Mrs. Jean Knehans
Dr. Knehans is currently Associate Professor of Health and Exercise Sciences. This is their 8th year in the FIR residence and they frequently enjoy meals in the Sooner Housing Center Cafeteria. Programs planned for this year include a hypnotist, a frozen custard social hour, guitar night, monthly birthday parties, and home-baked cookies!

Dr. Jason Houston, Monica Sharp
Jason Huston is Assistant Professor of Italian in the Department of Modern Languages, Literatures, and Linguistics. Monica Sharp is currently Assistant Director of International Student Services. Previous programs included cooking lessons, a cheese and olive oil tasting, and presentations on international travel destinations. Their FIR apartment is located in Cate Center, Quad 3.
