All residence hall rooms currently have high speed Internet capabilities.
For Internet use, you must have:
- A computer with an Ethernet port
- An Ethernet cable, available free from the Couch IT Center
- Compatible software for the OU network
All premium rooms have wireless access. For wireless access, you must
have a compatible wireless card installed in your computer. OU
Information Technology (IT) cannot guarantee connectivity to these
wireless connections.
All residents are required to submit their registration information the
first time each semester that they log onto the OU network. NetReg
associates each network connection with an OUNet ID (4+4) and OUNet
Password before granting network access. This means that each semester
OU Network and Internet users must follow a simple automated
registration process for each network connection (desktop, laptop,
docking station, wireless, PlayStation, TiVo, etc.) to gain access to
the Network and Internet.
